Minneapolis, MN - April 4th, 2011 

MR Instruments, Inc. has received clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to market its 16-channel Head Coil for use with GE Healthcare 1.5 and 3.0-Tesla MRI Systems.  The coil is also expected to be available for sale within the European Union via CE Mark in the near future.

The 16-channel Head Coil is the result of a two year R&D effort focused on developing a coil compatible with GE Healthcare's 1.5 and 3.0T legacy and next generation MRI scanners.  The coil combines an optimal number of RF detectors for high SNR with an ergonomic design for patient comfort and improved workflow capabilites for the technologist.

MR Instruments, Inc. is an independent designer and manufacturer of RF coils and specialty products for leading MRI systems.  The company introduced the first clinical 32-channel 3.0T Head Coil and plans to increase the breadth of its product line with world class RF coils and image guided toolsets.  MR Instruments strives to exceed the expectations of the clinical user, while meeting the needs of the MR industry.  The company continues to work with the MR research community to develop specialty products utilized to advance the science of MR.

This year RSNA was a successful venture for MR Instruments, Inc..  The duoFLEX Suite garnered a mass of interest from OEMs and other onlookers.  Also, the 16ch head coil proved to the industry that more channels does not necessarily make a better coil.  The SNR results shown during the show, proved just that.  We made believers out of everyone who stopped and inquired about the 16ch head coil.

We would like to thank everyone who attended RSNA '10 and especially those who visited our booth.  It's always a pleasure sharing a roof with the entire radiology community.
