The Coil Development Kit was designed to assist researchers in their development of RF coils. The kit’s Port A connector facilitates quick connection to GE MRI scanners opening a new window for efficient coil development. Each of the eight receive-only channels is a T/R protected, low-impedance, low-noise preamplifier with a standard BNC connector. Transmit and transmit-receive coils (quadrature or linear) are supported via a modular interface that includes a T/R switch and a low-noise preamplifier. A Coil ID is presented to the scanner, pointing to a configuration file appropriate to the Coil Development Kit operating mode.
